Receiving your Bachelor’s degree and not being employable almost defeats the purpose of attending a University. The Career Services department at Academic City complements your academic achievements by improving your employability and helping you set realistic career goals through workshops, career advising, internship and/or graduate job placements, seminars, career fairs, networking events, and one-on-one meetings.

Academic City Students Meet the Industry: Career Fair 2019

Academic City organized its maiden Career Fair to create a platform for students to network with companies from different industries across the continent and to secure internship opportunities, which will grant them the experience they need to be successful in their professional lives. The fair, which helped students to gain a greater appreciation of the professional opportunities available to them to develop their career potential, was organized by the Career Services department under the Office of the Student and Community Affairs.

Industry Site Visits

At Academic City, the university encourages students to not only learn through the guidance of their professors, but also to acquire real hands on practical experience. For this purpose, yearly site visits are conducted to help our students gain greater exposure to specific engineering applications within industry. In Spring 2019, a cohort of engineering students paid a visit to Vista 2000, a leading paper manufacturer in Ghana.

Guest Speaker Series

Throughout the semester, Academic City hosts a guest speaker series open to businesses, professionals, students, alumni and staff. Industry experts, leading business figures and entrepreneurs are invited to speak across a range of subjects including business and management, leadership, marketing, PR, economics, finance, accounting, and human resource management. Past speakers include the CIO of General Electric, the Director of the Executive MBA program at National University Singapore and the Dean at IFIM Business School in Bangalore.
