Michael Yamoah

Michael Yamoah is a lecturer in Academic City University’s Department of Communication Arts. His expertise spans journalism, communication, and media studies. His work connects professional writing and reporting with media analysis, visual storytelling, and the ethical practice of journalism. He teaches communication skills, text and meaning, communication and culture, journalism, editing, news reporting, media writing, photography, photojournalism, and investigative journalism, helping students apply theory to practical and professional contexts. He holds an MPhil in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Education, Winneba, an MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from Sikkim Manipal University, and a BA in English from the University of Cape Coast. He is currently pursuing a PhD. He contributes to experiential, context-responsive education and interdisciplinary collaboration at Academic City. His academic profile reflects a commitment to rigorous teaching, student development, and the responsible application of knowledge.
His interest in developing a solid academic career, while maintaining my passion for impacting the next generation of media and communication enthusiasts, drives him to teach. He has, since 2010, been engaged in training and development at the tertiary level in various capacities, either as a consultant or a faculty member. He has also been a facilitator for education start-ups, as a founding faculty member of the communication departments of Bluecrest University College and Academic City. His goal of making His students industry-relevant makes him simultaneously be within the media space as a practicing communication professional
