Jacob Quarshie

Jacob Quarshie is an assistant lecturer in Academic City University’s Department of Biomedical Engineering. His expertise spans biomedical instrumentation, medical devices, clinical engineering, healthcare technology management, molecular diagnostics, medical imaging, and biosensors. His work connects device design and clinical technology with diagnostic systems, equipment management, and patient-centred and healthcare-focused engineering applications. He teaches biomedical engineering, anatomy and physiology, sensors and bioinstrumentation, biomedical imaging, medical devices, neuroimaging, and physics, helping students apply theory to practical and professional contexts. He holds an MPhil in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Ghana, a BSc in Biomedical Engineering, and a diploma in Biomedical Equipment Technology from Valley View University. He has received Academic City’s Technology Innovation Impact Award and international faculty recognition from Loma Linda University Health. He contributes to experiential, context-responsive education and interdisciplinary collaboration at Academic City.
