Rebecca Awerigiya

Racheal Abrokwah is a lecturer in Academic City University’s Department of Communication Arts. Her expertise spans communication and media studies, journalism, communication law and ethics, development communication, and AI. Her work connects journalistic practice with media ethics, social development, and the implications of emerging technologies for communication. She teaches communication and artificial intelligence, investigative journalism, development communication, media history, communication law and ethics, professional writing and final-year projects, helping students apply theory to practical and professional contexts. She holds an MPhil in Communication and Media Studies and a BBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Education, Winneba, and is currently pursuing a PhD. Her research received a Top Paper Award at the 2025 National Communication Association Convention in the United States. She contributes to experiential, context-responsive education and interdisciplinary collaboration at Academic City.
