About the Symposium

Uncovering "Treasures" in Responsible Mining

Following the success of the Unpacking Galamsey Seminar in November 2024, Academic City University invites researchers, practitioners, students, policymakers, and industry experts to submit abstracts, posters, and presentations for the Unpacking Galamsey Symposium on June 11, 2025.

This symposium will deepen discussions on illegal surface mining (galamsey) in Ghana and the region, focusing on practical, systemic, and multi-sector solutions.
